Toddler, Preschool & Transitional Kindergarten Programs
At SOPNS, one of our many goals is to provide an environment where building confidence, self-esteem, creativity, and being a good citizen are a high priority. We strive to meet all areas of your child’s development by lovingly applying the principle of God’s word, along with our expertise in the field of early childhood education.
SOPNS offers classes for children ages 2 to 5 years old. We have a beautiful, secure campus in Sherman Oaks, south of Ventura Blvd., which includes a large playground with a play structure, huge sand box, tricycles, and many more outdoor activities. Our classrooms are light-filled and bright, and equipped with air purifiers and filtered drinking water.
We also offer a hot lunch program Mondays-Thursdays, where meals are made in-house and balanced with fruits and vegetables. Fridays are “Pizza Fridays,” where kids are invited to purchase a slice of pizza to fundraise for the school. Fridays are also “School Spirit Day,” where kids wear their SOPNS merch to show their love for our amazing school!

Choosing the right preschool for your child is a significant decision that shapes their early learning experiences. At SOPNS, we understand the importance of a holistic approach to education that integrates spiritual values with play-based learning. Our curriculum is infused with Christian teachings that promote love, kindness, and respect for one another. We believe that instilling these values at an early age helps children develop a strong moral foundation that guides their interactions throughout life. We know that children learn best through play. Our play-based curriculum encourages exploration, imagination, and creativity. Through hands-on activities, storytelling, and collaborative play, children develop essential social skills and cognitive abilities while having fun! Our dedicated teachers create a supportive atmosphere where each child feels valued and understood. We celebrate diversity and encourage children to express themselves freely. Every day at SOPNS is filled with engaging activities that stimulate learning. From arts and crafts to music and movement, our diverse range of activities cater to various learning styles. We also incorporate outdoor play to help children connect with God's creation. We believe that a sense of belonging is vital for a child's growth. MEET OUR SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR
Welcome! My name is Beth Kintner and I am the Spiritual Director of Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Nursery School.
As a child, I grew up riding horses in the mountains of Washington State. Being surrounded by God's magnificent creation drew me into conversation and relationship with God, who created all of it with His loving hands. This connection with God set me on the path to continue to love and serve Him, as well as the people around me. It is my deepest joy to connect children with their loving God, through teaching them about the Bible, who God is, our Savior Jesus, and our helper Holy Spirit. Setting a strong foundation of faith gives children the strength and resilience they need to thrive in life! It is the greatest gift you could ever give them. "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it" (Proverbs 22:6).
